#005: Bloom Where You're Planted

Howard Young is a living legend in the world of cancer, and more specifically Pancreatic cancer, one of the most aggressive forms with some of the lowest survival rates.

Since Howard’s original diagnosis in 2002, he has had 3 separate recurrences of stage 4 Pancreatic cancer that metastasized (spread) away from the pancreas. Howard has defied the odds by living to tell his remarkable tale and is currently 8 years cancer free and living a healthy, fulfilling life.

Howard is inspired to use his story, faith and commitment to service to support others and our world. Howard’s authenticity and humility shine through in this conversation and his perspective is positive, hopeful and without a doubt deeply moving.

A few highlights from our conversation include:

  • The timeline of Howard's original diagnosis and three recurrences

  • An intimate story with a special person that deepened Howard's faith

  • How Howard uses his faith, family and friends to persevere and remain positive

  • The importance of positive thinking

  • A doctor's powerful advice
